St. Mary Magdalene, Batcombe "When a church was first built on this site is unknown, but it is believed that there has been one here from at least the 11th century."
St. Peter, Chetnole  "Chetnole church, like many village churches ... has evolved over the centuries, ... the result here is exceptionally pleasing." Click here for Dorset Historic Churches page.
St. Mary the Virgin, Hermitage  "This church is in a most attractive and peaceful setting adjacent to an 18c farmhouse." Click here for Dorset Historic Churches page.
St. Nicholas, Hilfield  "It is a chapel style church set on a hill side all alone..." Click here for Dorset Historic Churches page.
St. Andrew, Leigh "Formerly a chapel in the neighbouring parish of Yetminster." The church, like so many in Dorset, still has its C15 tower. The nave and chancel are the result of a Victorian restoration in 1840. This was to a design by R J Withers of Sherborne, whose only other recorded churches are St Nicholas at Hilfield and St Mary at Melbury Bubb. A new vestry was added late in the C20.  (by courtesy of Dorset Historic Churches)
St. Hippolytus, Ryme Intrinsica  "This little church, another of Dorset's gems, tucked away in a village.  It shares the dedication with only one other church in England, near Hitchin in Hertfordshire." Click here for Dorset Historic Churches page.
St. Andrew, Yetminster "St. Andrews presides genially over the handsome stone houses of Yetminster, a high proportion of which date from the seventeenth century, when the village achieved an unusual prosperity." Click here for Dorset Historic Churches page.
