Church of the Assumption, Holnest 
"This little church lies almost all alone in a large graveyard on the western side of the main Dorchester to Sherborne road."

St. Peter & St. Paul, Caundle Marsh 
"A simple chapel style church built in 1857"

St. Lawrence, Folke 
"There is a trace of a Saxon door in the tower, but the first real reference is of 1292, when mention is made of the building being a chapel belonging to the Mother Church at Sherborne."

St. Laurence, Holwell 
A Grade 1 listed mid-fifteenth century building.  It has a wagon roof to the nave whilst the north aisle has a finely decorated seventeenth century wooden ceiling. Following major restoration work St Lawrence reopened fully in Summer 2007.
St. Mary the Virgin, Glanvilles Wootton
"The earliest part of this delightful little church is the 1344 chantry chapel, which was endowed so a priest would say mass for the departed every day for ever."

Alpha Course:   The first sessions are on Thursdays starting 9.10.08 until 4.12.08 at The Rectory, Holwell.  Details from the Rector.

Holwell: The new heating scheme for St Laurence is expected to be installed by the end of October.
