"A Time for Marriage"

On Thursday 9th October 2008 from 10:00 am to 3.45 there will be a day-long seminar entitled ‘A Time for Marriage’, Led by Andrew Body, Founder Trustee and Chairman of Flame. It will involve a day of seminars and Workshops and is aimed at Clergy and those involved in Marriage Preparation and will take place at The Board of Education Centre, Salisbury.

The day has been organised because it is time for the Church to grasp the opportunities that weddings present.  It needs to be ready to sell the excellent products that we have in a competitive market place.  The new marriage Regulations open up new possibilities, and the Church as a whole is looking again at how we can best fulfil our calling in this ministry.

This day will explore the huge opportunities that cry out to be grasped, and look at some practical ways in which we can do so.

It will also include an opportunity for everyone to familiarise themselves with our Diocesan resource “Journeying Together”.

The cost is £5 (to include lunch). Details can be obtained from Debbie Albery at the Sherborne Area Office (01258) 859110 or by email debbbie.albery@salisbury.anglican.org

Economics, Politics, and Justice issues of Climate Change
The Salisbury Diocese Environment Group have organised a day-long seminar to help understand the Economic and Political Implications of Climate Change within a theological context at The Board of Education Centre, Devizes Road, Salisbury, SP2 9LY on 26th September 2008 from 10.00am until 3.30pm

As well as discussing the justice issues of such implications the day will focus on the helping people to understand what they can strategically do to help.

The day will be led by Eliot Whittington, the Chief Policy advisor for Christian Aid. He says, “Poor people face a triple crisis. They struggle with the challenge of making a living with far too few resources. They are faced with a changing climate that threatens their livelihoods and their lives. And the global solutions to climate change could shut the door to development in their faces”.

All are welcome to come along and hear how can the world solve climate change and respect poor people’s right to develop.

The cost will be £5, to include lunch and details and booking form can be obtained from

Debbie Albery at the  Sherborne Area Office Tel: (01258) 859110 or email: debbie.albery@salisbury.anglican.org
